Ventrino Forum for Walker Scripts _ Third Party Products & Services _ Private Admin Message To Member
Posted by: Thom Pearson May 22 2008, 02:55 PM
A small plugin that allows the admin to send a private message to a member.
The message is shown at the top of the tools page, or wherever else you want it to show.
Only the member it is meant for sees it. Nobody else sees anything.
The message stays visible to the member until you delete it.
Useful for sending messages to members who do not respond to emails sent to them.
If you are interested, use the "Contact Me" link in my sig and you can get a trial version.
best wishes

I decided I am giving this script away completely free to anyone who wants it
Download it here
http://pearsons.ws/admin%20messages%20script.zip
What's the catch?
You have to enter your account number at http://tiptoptraffic.com/
into the setup
Then whenever you send a message to a member, your referral link for TipTopTraffic will be included at the bottom of the message.
best wishes

hi Calvin,
Sorry but you can't.
One day when I am not so busy I will do more with this script, like make templates
Something I do want to add is a function to make the message show to the member while they are surfing.

I'd also be interested in using it.
It would be great for the ones who haven't added any sites but they're surfing
to win the contests. Don't know why they do that. It's beyond me.

One question. Since no one but the member can see the message, should we send a
test message to our own account so we can see how it works?

Awesome, I found a slight issue.
When you click to view the messages you've sent
it doesn't show the most recent ones.
Maybe there's a delay somewhere?
Thom I can tell this is going to be a very popular
piece of software. You should make a big business
out of all these great software items.

Hi Rebecca,
I noticed this too. I think for some reason, some messages just won't apply. Thom mentioned too much html and/or too many characters as being the problem(s). I canceled those possibilities out at my TE.
So I think if it doesn't show in your list, it's not there. But you can easily check...
If you go to your BCP and open the member's account and go to their page where you have the messages to appear for the member you can see if yours are showing for the member even though they aren't on the list.
