Ventrino Forum for Walker Scripts _ Third Party Products & Services _ Combo Prize/game Plug-in

Posted by: RayDube Aug 25 2008, 08:15 PM

Hello Guys,

We've just finished work on the Fully Customizable Prize/Game plug-in for Ventrino Software.

The plug-in is fully customizable with templates, much the same way as you customized your TE.

You can offer up to 9 different prizes, including combo prizes (that is, cash & credits, or even cash, credits, banners and texts!)

The plug-in can be run as either a prize page, a game page, or a combination of the two, meaning at random either one or the other.

For a limited time it will be available for 50$, but the price will be going up shortly to 75$.

I hope you enjoy the script and make good use of it.
=============================================
NEW NEW NEW
New manager page, easier to work with than before.
SQL code to "shrink" the db:

SQL
DELETE FROM ryg_prizegame_stats WHERE date < "2009-06-01"

will delete all entries older than June 1, 2009
=============================================
=============================================
NEW NEW NEW
Completely re-written!!!
New features, includes the ability to set a "maximum" amount per prize (Total per prize option) the ability to display on the manager which page you are running as (Prize page replacement, Games page replacement, or Controlled Rotation.)

Also you no longer need the SQL code to "shrink" the db, you simply set the number of days you want to keep data for, and it does the housekeeping for you!

Thanks,

Ray

What kind of game Ray?

Posted by: surfaholic Aug 26 2008, 06:34 PM

Do you have a demo we can take a look at?

Posted by: nujams Aug 27 2008, 07:02 AM

You can see it in action on Traffic Jamms!

Hello Ladies and Gents,

It's a game that can be customized to your own look and feel, and heck, you can call it what you want. The beauty of this game, imho, is that you can truly make it your own.

Basically the game is a simple push a button, win a prize type of game, you can set from 1 to 6 buttons on the page, and depending on how lucky your member is, they press a button, and either are rewarded with a prize, or are told sorry, try again.

But if you don't want a game, instead you simply want to give away different types of prizes, you could set it to Prize mode, and the page that appears will simply advise your member that s/he has won XX as a prize.

And you can set it to do one or the other at random... smile.gif

The prizes are set up by the individual owners. You can set the game to give out cash, credits, banners or text ads. You can offer a combination of these as well (cash & credits; cash, credits & texts; etc.)

Thanks Scott for getting the game up and running in a live environment and letting others know about it!

If you want to see a manager interface, I've got one available on my beta site for a limited time... You'll be able to access this until Tuesday next week with these credentials:
User: AdminTester
Pass: Adm1nT3st3r
site: http://beta.theroadtoonlinesuccess.biz

You'll also get a peek at the Personalized splash page settings here. smile.gif

In the manager you set:
Prizes - a list of 9 prizes that can be awarded to your members, inculding these types of prizes: Cash, Credits, Banners, Texts, Combo1, Combo2, Combo3, Combo4 & Combo5 (identified as prize 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 respectively)
The Prize list could be something like this: 3,3,3,4,4,4,1,2,5
This means 3 prizes of Banners, 3 prizes of Banners (3x3's), 3 prizes of Texts (3x4's), one Cash Prize(1x1), one Credit Prize(1x2) and one Combo1 Prize(1x5)

Combo Prize Types
i.e. : combo5 = 2,3,4 (Credits, Banners & texts)

Amounts per prize,
i.e.
Prize 1 Amount = 25 Banners
Prize 2 Amount = 50 Banners
Prize 3 Amount = 100 Banners
Prize 4 Amount = 250 Texts
Prize 5 Amount = 500 Texts
Prize 6 Amount = 1000 Texts
Prize 7 Amount = .05 Cash
Prize 8 Amount = 10 Credits
Prize 9 Amount = 10 Credits & 25 Banners & 250 Texts
(assuming prize list above of 3,3,3,4,4,4,1,2,5)

Finally allowing you to set, via the manager, what you want to show when you say you're sorry about the loss in the game. Many will probably use the template instead though. smile.gif

Take a look, let me know what you think!

One improvement has been suggested, and will be implemented at a future date, that is, a prize cap. When a given amount of prizes have been awarded, that prize is removed from the game.

Hello To all,

There have been a number of updates to the original design for this page, including a better "cheater_catcher" and a report going back to admin about possible cheaters.

There has also been added some limited reporting on what has been awarded to members during surfing. This is still preliminary and winds up taking a lot of page room, as I haven't yet "paged" the results, will be done soon.

Coming over the next few days will include a brief summary of what has been given away, in a format similar to:

QUOTE
Cash | Credits | Banners | Texts
amt | amt | amt | amt

I've had a couple of reports from clients and have tried to answer them all, if anyone feels they have been missed, please let me know. For those who have not yet seen the newly improved cheater_catcher, please use your download link from your email to download the latest package.

I just had to jump in and comment. I LOVE THIS SCRIPT, YOU SET IT ONCE AND FORGET IT, [ UNLESS YOU WANT TO CHANGE SOMETHING ]

I used my own graphics and made my own buttons and it is so cool. It was so easy to customize it to how I wanted it to look for my site using my own graphics and buttons.

Love it Ray, simply love it!!!

Posted by: Robin Bouwhuis Sep 24 2008, 02:53 PM

That's not what I heard you say when we first started to set up your script tongue.gif

I am glad that you are liking it now though smile.gif I know that we put in a good bit of time to setup the customization for you. The time is ALWAYS well spent!

LOL, naughty boy Robin. I had to figure out what the heck I was doing. I try to give Ray a good plug and you come along and mess it up. You should have just agreed with me cause I know you like it too.

Yep, I like it. It was worth every penny, and I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

You guys crack me up!

I know how much Robin likes the script, and I've a pretty good idea how Lorraine felt about it at first... wink.gif But once you've got it set up to your liking, the tweaks over time are relatively simple and painless... smile.gif

Now for the next big thing eh? smile.gif

Hi Ray

The plug in is going good and I still love it however is there a way to do something about all the rows in the database?
I have 4737 rows and it is going to be a space hogger if we leave it to grow and grow. The info is useful and I do check the rows for info but it is very time consuming going through page after page looking for info.

Posted by: Robin Bouwhuis Nov 27 2008, 08:58 PM

HI Surfaholic,

You can run this command:

delete From ryg_prizegame_stats where date < "2008-11-01 00:00:00"

just change the date to be the cut off. I run this each month, so my table doesn't get too full.

There is also a way to modify the default from 15 records shown per page. I have mine set to 50 so that I have less pages.

Hope this helps,

Robin

Hi Robin

Thanks for that info very helpful, I will run that command every so often.
How can it be modified to show 50 pages? I can't seem to find it and it is probably staring me in the face

It's not staring you in the face. Its in the php files. I will need to find it and post it for you.

Robin

Posted by: Robin Bouwhuis Nov 27 2008, 11:12 PM

ok in the file public_html\manager\custom\prizegame_manager.php

Scroll to the bottom (well almost bottom) and look for this code:

</table>
</p>
<?
$limit=15;
$Prev = "Previous";
$Next = "Next";

If you change

$limit=15;

to

$limit=50;

this will display 50 records on the page. You can change that number to 100, 75, or any value that you want to have. Just remember that it will need to load that many records upon each page load, so I would not go much past 100.

I am interested biggrin.gif

Posted by: RayDube Feb 24 2009, 07:45 PM

Hi Sheila,

Yes, we are still offering all of our scripts at our corporate web address. If you've got signatures enabled, you should see links in my signature. smile.gif

Ray

Posted by: rooster02 Feb 26 2009, 04:19 AM

Ray

I did check them out.

So if I order the games, do they override the ones in the script?

And, do you do customized games? Like if I wanted roosters or eggs or chicken or barns.. LOL tongue.gif

Posted by: RayDube Feb 26 2009, 03:51 PM

Hi Sheila,

No, they don't override the current games in the system, and are actually accessed via the controlled rotation.

As for customized scripts, I do those all of the time, but I created this prize/game script so that the look and feel can be customized at a lower cost than a fully customized game. You may surf multiple sites with the same game and not even know it. You can add your own buttons, so the roosters, eggs, chickens or barns can replace the simple default buttons... smile.gif

Ray

Posted by: Hit Carnival Apr 1 2009, 11:01 PM

Ray,

Could we maybe get a slightly customized version of this script?

What do you typically charge for code work? We have an idea, very similar to this one -- that we'd like to institute.

Thanks in advance. Feel free to PM me if you'd like.

-- Little details about our customization...

We are Carnival themed, as you can see. Or will be when we launch middle of the month.

We'd like to let our users go on a carnival "ride" every 25 sites they surf. At every 100 sites they surf, they can choose to go for a ride OR play a carnival game instead.

When they choose to ride - there are 3 ride TYPES...

The first is free - and always pays out bonus credits... 1 to 10 (with double pay outs for paid members)
The second type costs 2 credits (it can pay out 0, 2, 5, 10, 15, or 20 credits -- again, double for paid members)
The third type costs 5 credits (it can pay out 0, 5, 10, 20, 25, or 40 credits -- same doubling rule applies)

After 100 surfs they can do a ride again or risk "big money" playing a midway game. -- It costs 10 credits and they can lose ANOTHER 10 by being sucked it by the carnival barker to play and lose again, win 0 (still a loss of 10), or win 25 or 50 credits (doubling rule still applies)

That's the GENERAL idea.

Hello Ray,

I love your prize/game script & personal splash script that is installed at Relentless Chaos. The owner before me did a great job.

Is payment paid through PayPal and USA funds? Do you install the script when someone buys your product?

Is there a default prize/game page & default personal splash? Then the TE owner designs it or pays someone to design it for them?

I'm asking these questions because I would love to have your scripts added to my other traffic exchanges.

Lisa

Posted by: RayDube Apr 24 2009, 03:48 AM

Hi Lisa,

The Prize/Game Script does have a default design, but the personal splash page doesn't, not really anyway. There's something very basic to give an example of how it's used, that's all.

Installation is a little bit extra, and can be ordered at the same time as the scripts themselves.

For good personal splash pages, see Scott/Nujams here, he's done for me and for others, a real good job too! smile.gif

Ray

Posted by: Download Queen Apr 24 2009, 06:55 AM

I will be a future customer when I get some money.

It will be the Prize/Game script and I will pay you the extra to install it. I saw Installation on the site now next to Options.

Hey Hey Hey!

Yes, I've listened to the comments made both in forum and mostly via IM (IM had more in the way of gripes and complaints though smile.gif )

The manager for the Prize Game script has been overhauled a little bit. Ok, not really an overhaul, more of a change of view, to hopefully make it a little bit easier.

If you're a prize game client, get an email off to me and I'll send you the updated file. It's only a page update, no database changes, nothing complicated. Simply upload the new prizegame_manager.php file to your site and you're good to go with the new, hopefully improved, manager. smile.gif

Ray

Posted by: bellx Jun 25 2009, 11:54 PM

Hi Ray, guess I need the update. Also is there a way to clear the stats I have 500 pages or so?

Posted by: RayDube Jun 26 2009, 04:11 PM

Hi Nick,

To shrink the database, you can use this sql code.

SQL
DELETE FROM ryg_prizegame_stats WHERE date < "2009-06-01"

this will delete all entries older than June 1, 2009

We've got some improvements coming in which will allow you to set the max number of days to keep data in the database, but that won't be for a little while yet.

Ray

Posted by: bellx Jun 26 2009, 07:43 PM

Thanks Ray that worked great, obviously I can just change the date and use it whenever needed. Can I get the update for the prize/game?

You can send it to tnttraffic_at_inbox.com

Thanks:)

Hello everyone

Does anyone seem to have the ryg_prizegame_win.php file for Rays Game/prize Plugin

Somehow im getting a syntax error in line 2 of the file

Does anyone have the php code so i can replace the code and swap it

Thanks
Craig

Posted by: RayDube Jul 7 2009, 06:13 PM

Hey Craig,

I hope you got the replacement already, I have to admit I didn't hear back from the mail I sent, hopefully you got it... I'll have to send a follow up today, in case we aren't both here at the same time.

Also, should note that there are currently 3 versions of the script out there, not all have followed through on the upgrades as they became available, and one version seems to work great on some hosts, while a second version works better on others...

One of the reasons we're going to re-write the script this summer to get it working just find everywhere. Using a bit of new ideas and adding improvements as well.

Hello Ray

Sorry it took so long.

Since you installed the prize page i have been really busy with my traffic exchnage

Prize page is working wonderful.

The only question i have is.

Is there something to go off as far as how everything should look in the configuration.

The manual and the examples on your website are a little different then what i have in my control panel Game prize mod

Looking forward to the new written script.

Ray i will have to say for this just being a mod. Its an awesome script and every one of my members love it.

I love the way you can redesign the game page to your liking.

Very customizable.

One more thing. Im very big on customer support as i give the best quality support on all my businesses

I will have to say the customer support from you is great.Very responsive and polite.

I will recommend your services to everyone.

Very well done. great job.

Thanks
Michael

Ray

Oh, and BTW, the *NEW* PrizeGame script is now available again, completely rewritten and past through some pretty thorough testing by myself and a few select partners. There are feature additions as well as performance and security improvements. And it's at the same old price (we were going to increase the price, what with the new features, but I changed our minds... tongue.gif )

hello

i have a couple questions.

what do you mean when you say this does random choices?? does it randomly choose the game or prize or how often the page shows up?

can it be made to show up randomly??

is there a way to make it give random prizes in the timer bar tooo?

is there a way to make more then 9 prizes??

thank you

Posted by: RayDube Aug 11 2009, 05:11 PM

Hello there,

Random choices, 2 places where it does this.

The game can be set to choose randomly between prize and game pages (either an automatic win, or play game to win)

The prizes are randomly selected from the 9 that you can set up.

This does not work in the timer bar, but I have submitted code to do this here: http://www.ventrino.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=11579&view=findpost&p=62528

There is only 9 prize types, including combination prizes, as well as cash, credits, banners or texts. With a "ceiling" on how many of each type can be awarded.

Nope sad.gif That didn't do anything.

Posted by: a1trafficexchange Aug 27 2009, 06:47 PM

I have another question.

I have a member who joined yesterday... their account claims 300 sites surfed, yet their ryg_surfs says over 15000 and cash won is over $4 already. I don't have that
many cash prize pages in rotation to where they would win that much in one surf session.

She's not the only one either, I have several new surfers with similar results. Could this be a new issue in the system?

Posted by: RayDube Aug 27 2009, 06:59 PM

Hmm, they seem to have found a way to cheat the system, but I'm not sure how...

But, knowing that they're cheating shoudl be enough of a reason to ban them, and a good reason for me to find out how they managed to cheat the system... sad.gif

Could you do me a favor and tell me, either here or in email (ray_at_raying.ca) what version it is you're running:

CODE
* _at_version ?.?

Hey Hey Hey!!

No matter how hard we try, or how long we've got something working, there is always room for improvement, and folks who find something that we missed.

A issue was fixed in the latest version of the prizegame script today.

Please check your version (in the pg_submit.php file) and see if it matches this:

CODE
* _at_version 4.0

If so, we'll upload 2 fixed files to your site and things will be right as rain.

Please use the raying.ca contact page to request these files. Thank you!

NEW NEW NEW
Completely re-written!!!

Thanks,

Ray

This prize/game sucks... Nothing but problems. I bought a site with this prize/game on it and I was told it had a problem with the game part of it reporting cheaters all the time, so I never turned the game part on, She told me that Ray has been contacted about it several times and nothing was done about it. I even tried to send him a couple emails to ask him to fix it, NO REPLY!!!!

Now, I have another problem with it . So if there is anyone out there besides Ray, because it doesn't seem that he can back up his product by fixing it, that can fix it give me a holler.

I would never purchase anything from Ray ever... sorry Ray.

I have been using rays add-ons for some time
And his support has always been very good

From what you are saying you are using an old version of the script
That did have a few bugs in it but they have been fixed and an email was sent to all members who had purchased the script to send him an email requesting the latest version of the script

Support for the scripts is done Here http://raying.ca/index.php?main_page=contact_us

Hi Jason,

If you've been sending me emails about any problems, they have not been getting through, and I apologize if you feel you've been ignored.

the easiest way to contact me is to use the contact us form on the website, these get replied to immediately when received.

Please contact me as soon as possible so we can get your site fixed. I had not heard of any problem with error reports, except on one site that was corrected a while ago.

Sorry for the "double reply"

There was another message with a note added as an attachment from Rich... I only just noticed this, but I do have to say I and a friend has been in contact with Rich, and at last check (monday) things were working on the site.

Sorry to anyone who feels they have had any issues, either with one of my scripts, or in trying to contact me.

Warmest regards,

Ray

I retract what I had said above. Thanks Ray for fixing it up. It works now LOL

Yes, Jason and I were able to speak and get this problem resolved.

Still not sure why the messages weren't getting through, but sometimes the internet has a mind of it's own.

If anyone is still using an older version of our script, please let us know so we can get you updated to the most stable secure version.

Hello Ladies and Gents,

We've made some minor performance improvements to the script and fixed a couple of small bugs. We've also changed the license system used with the script. Rather than an auto-generated license included in the files, we've gone with a separate generated license.

If you wish to update to the latest version, please let me know. It is encouraged, but not mandatory if you are not having any issues.

Warmest regards.

We have a issue with the prizegame script, that appears to be only affecting one site at the moment, and are hoping you all can help us track it down, and report on anything that may be happening on your site. This *may* be hinting at a cheater managing to get through our security, but as we've only one report of this problem, and have not been able to replicate it ourselves, we are asking for your assistance and reports of anything similar.

Please view the post on the support forum here:

Thanks for your support.

Hello Ray,

Was reading the forum and I see that you have a combo Prize Page Script.
Can you tell me if you are still involved with installing the Script and where
can I see a site that is using that particular platform now?

Hi Chad,

Yeah, the forum is down, been fighting to get the db restored, should have gotten it done by now, but work has gotten in the way.

Thanks for the note!

SnowCloud,

There are a number of folks using the script, including, but not limited to:

www.AceBizTraffic.com
www.WatersedgeHits.com
www.CrosseyedSurf.com
www.HitCyclone.com

Take a look at them all!

We've just noticed that there are almost 100 sites using the RYG Prizegame!

Woohoo, thanks guys, but the number could probably be even higher if we had a little more feedback and added some much wanted features to the script eh?

So, over the next few weeks we'll be adding an additional prize option to the script (solo-ads) and would love to hear anything else you'd like to have included.

An additional feature we're working on is an "add-on" to offer sponsorship of prizegame buttons. Yup, we're building an add-on to our add-on.

Because everyone wants to have an opportunity to promote their business, and TE owners want to add additional revenue streams, we've started working on this option to have both multiple sponsors on the prizegame, as well as to have a single sponsor for all buttons. After a win or a loss, there will be a larger button/banner to offer your members a chance to visit the button sponsor.

It's a nice thing to have, but not everyone wants to pay for it, which is why we opted for it being an add-on. it will be ready just after the other small changes you've asked for, and perhaps at the same time as anything else you'd like to see featured. smile.gif
