Ventrino Forum for Walker Scripts _ Third Party Products & Services _ Win, Lose Or Draw

Posted by: RayDube Jul 22 2009, 08:49 PM

We've been busy, while working on the re-write for the Prizegame plugin, we developed this more simplified version for those who may not have so much free cash to toss about.

We call our new game, Win, Lose or Draw, but you can call it what you want, design is all up to you!

The game is very simple, members choose to bet a number of credits, maximum set by the adminstrator, and press a button, they've got a chance to either win X times their bet (X amount also set by administrator), draw against the house and get their bet back, or maybe lost the credits they gambled.

It's only 35$ and I like it.. smile.gif

Well, actually, it's nowhere near as detailed as the Prizegame script, so I'd hate to compare them.

There are only a few settings for admin's to adjust:

  1. Prize Multiplier
Enter the rate of winning (i.e. 2 for twice their bet)
  2. Maximum Bet
Enter the the maximum number of credits a member can bet
  3. Chance of Winning
Enter the chance of winning when clicking a button
  4. Chance it's a draw
Enter the chance of it being a draw.
If they win, it could be a "draw" win, that is no lost credits, no extra credits
  5. Pro Multiplier
    Pro member multiplier.

The only thing that has to be present on the game page is a box for the bet, and a button to press. The rest of the page is customizable, as well as the security, win, lose and draw pages.

But it is installed and active in beta at beta.theroadtoonlinesuccess.biz. These accounts get deleted every couple of weeks or so.

Hey there,

Well, the game is a surf game, so you can only see it while surfing, I think it's actually set to show every 5 surfs even.

Hey Brian,

I'm back... smile.gif

The current version of Win, Lose or Draw is not licensed, and it is open sourced, however, there are a couple of back-end improvements that are coming and will be released shortly. I'm working with a new license system and will be encrypting my software, this after finding a couple of instances where my work has been "hijacked" to other non-paying sites.

I hate having to do it, but I've got to protect at least some of my work. smile.gif

I've been asked if it is possible to play the game while not in surf mode, and the short answer is yes, but there is a longer answer...

The game is designed to be seen while surfing, with security to ensure you don't try to claim a prize more than once, but this can cause some issues if you try to access the game directly, and means the game wouldn't be visible inside a frame either...

Now, the question I have is: Is it worth while to add functionality such that you could play this game from wherever you want, while surfing or as a member page, based on admin settings?

Let me know what you think, and I'll see if I can include this in the upcoming upgrade release.. smile.gif

I bought this and then found out it wants to replace the whole game subsystem such that it would be the only game available. Is there a way to NOT have to replace the game.tpl file? Please reply because if not I'm afraid I wasted $20...

Hi Marisa,

You could use it in place of the prize page as well as place it in controlled rotation.

As controlled rotation doesn't always work properly, depending on what else you've got setup, we recommend games page replacement, but prize and controlled rotation are options.

To use it in prize page, simply copy the contents of the games.tpl included and paste them into prize.tpl

To us it in controlled rotation, add this:

CODE
../../games/win_lose_draw/win_lose_draw.php

Please give me a little more detail on controlled rotation - where do I put the line you gave in your reply?

Hi,

Configuration ==> Traffic Exchange Professional Configuration ==> Controlled Rotation

Controlled Rotation List (In Order)

Add New:
Url ../../games/win_lose_draw/win_lose_draw.php

Ray,

Relentless Chaos has your prize game script. Can this script be installed too?

Posted by: RayDube Oct 15 2009, 03:07 PM

Hi,

Sorry for being so late to reply to this thread...

Win Lose or Draw can be installed side-by-side with the prize/game script, and can be used to replace the default prize script, games script or even in controlled rotation.
